Bothell, WA--June 4, 2008--Scotsman Guide, the leading national publication for mortgage originators, has announced that its senior designer, Deborah Richardson, was honored with an Excellence in Journalism award from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) for "Best Spread Design" in a magazine.

Richardson received third place in the category for designing the lead-article spreads in Scotsman Guide's March, May and October 2007 commercial editions. The winning spreads accompanied articles titled "Doing Business in the Information Age," "Navigating the Yield Curve" and "Swap Spreads and You."

Richardson picked up the award at the SPJ Western Washington Pro chapter's Excellence in Journalism awards banquet in Bellevue, Wash., on May 31, 2008.
