The 95th annual Mortgage Bankers Association Convention & Expo took place Oct. 19 to 22 in San Francisco -- but our coverage didn't stop there.
Scotsman Guide Associate Editor Darrick Meneken will be adding updates, news and more from the four-day event on our exclusive blog. Suggest items by e-mailing darrick@scotsmanguide.com.
The conference brought together mortgage professionals from around the country, offering an opportunity for education and networking. Attendees included senior-level banking leaders, mortgage brokers, national and regional lenders, full-service mortgage companies, mortgage conduits, service-providers, affordable-housing groups, and state- and local-association executives.
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director James Lockhart, Freddie Mac Chief Executive Officer David Moffett, and Fannie Mae President and Chief Executive Herbert Allison headlined the event's opening general session and annual business meeting on Oct. 20. On Oct. 21, former U.S. Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell and former presidential staffer Karl Rove led a lively discussion on rescuing the markets -- with interruptions to boot.
