“The best part of what I do is sitting down with clients face to face,” says Pinnacle Mortgage’s Michael Mundy. But that doesn’t always mean telling them “yes.”

“If you know you can’t do the loan, don’t try to stick a square peg into a round hole, because all that does is clog up your pipeline, reduce turn times and can ruin your credibility,” Mundy says.

Knowing when to say “no” has helped Mundy close a total of 639 loans this past year, with nearly $176 million in purchases, about 70 percent of his total volume.

About 50 percent of Mundy’s business comes from past clients and referrals. The other half comes from his real estate market referral base.

Mundy is quick to credit much of his success to a quality product platform at Pinnacle Mortgage that meets the needs of his clients. “I’ve been very fortunate because of my team and the access to the products here,” he says. His entire 13-year career as an originator has been at Pinnacle.
