Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, June 15-June 19

 
Roy

Sierra Pacific Mortgage has welcomed Susan Roy as its senior vice president of national operations. Roy returns to SPM, having served as senior government underwriter with the company from 2001 to 2007. Roy brings 30 years of mortgage banking experience to her new position, having previously been head of national operations at Pinnacle Capital Mortgage and vice president of national wholesale and western retail operations at Finance of America.

 
Orozco

ReverseVision has announced the appointment of Carissa Orozco as director of business development, strategic partners. Orozco will spearhead strategic partnerships that allow traditional mortgage lenders to integrate home equity conversion mortgages and private reverse mortgages into their own processes. Orozco brings 17 years’ mortgage industry experience to ReverseVision, as vice president of reverse sales at United Northern Mortgage Bankers. She has also served as director of learning and organizational development at Synergy One Lending and Retirement Funding Solutions and national senior sales trainer at American Advisors Group.

 
Otting

Black Knight has announced that Joseph M. Otting has been elected to serve on the company’s board of directors. Otting is a former Comptroller of the Currency, serving from November 2017 to May 2020. From January to April 2020, he also served as acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. His previous leadership experience in the private sphere includes executive positions at CIT Bank/CIT Group, OneWest Bank and U.S. Bancorp.

Catanzarite

Union Home Mortgage has welcomed Arthur Anton and Nick Catanzarite to its advisory board. Anton served as the chairman and CEO at Swagelok Company for 21 years and was also a partner at Ernst & Young. He also serves on the boards of several major organizations, including The Sherwin-Williams Company, Olympic Steel, University Hospitals and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Catanzarite is a partner at Walter Haverfield specializing in real estate development, corporate real estate services and real estate finance. Catanzarite previously served on the board of the Detroit Shoreway/Gordon Square Arts District and currently lends his expertise to the Urban Land Institute and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.

 
Gaskill

Jay Gaskill has joined the board of directors of closing automation firm Flueid Software Corporation. Gaskill, the principal investor in East Cape Holdings LLC, has held leadership positions at Xome Exchange, Solutionstar, Real Estate Digital and Fidelity National Financial. He is currently on the board of directors for CU Realty, RealWorks Corp. and JMG Real Estate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business information systems from San Diego State University.

McPherson

First Community Mortgage has named three Atlanta-based mortgage professionals to its team, with Brook Benton, Jason Copeland and Jake McPherson joining as assistant vice presidents. All were previously with CenterState Bank’s mortgage unit. Prior to his six years at CenterState, Benton, who brings nearly 20 years of experience to FCM, was a founding partner and loan officer with BrightPath Mortgage. Copeland was previously a senior loan originator with BrightPath prior to CenterState, while McPherson was a national director with a tech management services company before his four years at CenterState.
