Notable mortgage industry additions and promotions: June 10-14

Optimal Blue has announced the appointment of Joe Tyrrell as CEO. Tyrrell brings over 25 years of experience in the mortgage, finance, and technology industries to Optimal Blue. This includes serving as president of ICE Mortgage Technology, as well as in various leadership roles at Ellie Mae, including chief operating officer, prior to its acquisition in 2020. Most recently, Tyrrell served as the CEO of Medallia, a customer and employee experience company.

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has announced that Owen Lee, CEO at Success Mortgage Partners has been nominated to serve as MBA’s vice chairman for the 2025 membership year. Lee will be installed as vice chairman at MBA’s 111th Annual Convention in Denver in October. Per MBA’s bylaws, after serving a year as vice chairman, Lee is expected to be chairman-elect in the 2026 membership year, before ascending to chairman in 2027. Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Villanova University and a juris doctorate from Michigan State University.

UMortgage has announced that Andrew Chavez has stepped into the role of national director of sales development. In his new role, Chavez will partner with branch managers to develop sales strategies, training seminars and growth initiatives. Before he entered the mortgage space, Chavez served nine years in the United States Army Special Forces.

Dunmor has announced the addition of two industry veterans from the business-purpose lending sector to its leadership team: new chief marketing officer Tuan Pham and new senior vice president of asset management and servicing Steve Huff. Pham brings 23 years of marketing experience in real estate and finance, most recently as chief marketing officer at CoreVest Finance. Huff spent 11 years at Wedgewood prior to joining Dunmor, most recently as director of business operations.

Greystone Monticello has announced that Sean Bryce has joined the firm as a director focusing on originating multifamily bridge loans. Bryce, based in Atlanta, has 12 years of experience originating and managing commercial real estate debt investments on all property types across the United States. He most recently served as an assistant vice president for Voya Investment Management. Prior to Voya, he was a senior associate with Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners (formerly JCR Capital) and began his career at RAIT Financial Trust. He received a bachelor of science with concentrations in finance and real estate from Villanova University.

Incenter Lender Services has announced the promotion of Shelley Duffy to executive vice president, national sales. She is now responsible for all aspects of Incenter’s expanding Enterprise Business Development team. Duffy has more than 15 years of senior-level experience in the housing finance industry. She was previously senior vice president, enterprise sales with Computershare Loan Services, which she joined after serving as senior relationship manager, enterprise sales with Radian.
