Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, September 27-October 1

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has a new head, with Rohit Chopra confirmed by the Senate as its next director. Chopra, a noted financial watchdog, helped Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., initially establish the bureau before officially joining in 2011 as student loan ombudsman. Chopra has also served on the Federal Trade Commission, taking office in 2018.

ICE Mortgage Technology has tabbed Craig Austin as its new vice president, head of executive accounts. In his new role, he will manage ICE’s team of account executives and relationship managers as they provide digital mortgage technology to the company’s clients. Prior to joining ICE, he served as executive vice president of sales and business development at ClosingCorp. He also worked at Black Knight, where he served as vice president of sales.

Mortgage Connect LP has announced that it has promoted Meghan Jones-Rolla to the role of chief operating officer, Servicing and Capital Markets, leading the company’s default title, document solutions and capital markets divisions. She has been in the industry for 10 years, including her tenure as general counsel and senior vice president for the company since 2019. Prior to joining Mortgage Connect, she served as corporate counsel for another national financial services provider, where she was the primary legal advisor for default title and closing services, foreclosure title and auctions, posting and publication, asset management, and default technology support services. In her new role, Jones-Rolla will be responsible for growth and product development of the servicing and capital markets channels, operational execution, strategy, and client relations.

Nations Lending has welcomed Christopher Patille as its newest branch manager. Patille will operate out of Newark, Delaware, where he’ll continue to grow his production team and serve the area in and around Wilmington. Patille comes to Nations from Guaranteed Rate, where he served as a producing branch manager. Prior to his role at Guaranteed Rate, he spent time at both GSF Mortgage and Allied First Bank. Before entering the mortgage industry, Patille studied business at Pennsylvania State University.

Equity Prime Mortgage (EPM) welcomes Julian Sado to the executive team as executive vice president of leadership and development. With over 20 years of experience in the lending industry, Sado will lead the company in formal and informal leadership development.

Panorama Mortgage Group (PMG) has announced that Ryan Kerian has joined the firm as chief compliance officer and general counsel. In this role, Kerian is aligning legal, compliance and operational functions and is also responsible for protecting the interests of both the company and its clients. Kerian previously served as chief administrative officer and general counsel for GoPrime Mortgage. He also served as deputy general counsel for Celebrity Home Loans. Kerian holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School.

LBA Ware has announced that Lyndal McLaughlin has joined its team as a software implementation consultant. In this role, McLaughlin will train and assist lenders as they implement LBA Ware’s incentive compensation management (ICM) platform, CompenSafe. She has over 30 years’ experience in the mortgage industry. Most recently, McLaughlin served as a compliance product implementation manager for QuestSoft.
