Notable mortgage industry additions and promotions, May 29-June 2

LoanDepot announced the promotion of veteran mortgage leader Alec Hanson to serve as its chief marketing officer. Hanson, who joined LoanDepot in 2011 and formerly served as the company’s senior vice president of production for the West division, brings nearly two decades of sales and production experience to the role. Hanson will lead a consolidated marketing team, overseeing the development of brand, digital marketing, and organic and digital lead-generation campaigns that drive awareness and revenue growth for LoanDepot. Hanson will also be responsible for the company’s originator-led field-level marketing capabilities. Hanson earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and urban development from the University of California at Berkeley.

Open Mortgage announced the additions of national sales director Kathryn Edelen and vice president of finance Ryan Rathert. Edelen joins Open Mortgage after serving in leadership positions at Planet Home Lending, Nations Lending, LoanDepot and Homebridge Financial Services. She will help develop branches and loan officers across the company’s national retail mortgage footprint. Rathert will provide leadership in financial planning and analysis, risk management and regulatory compliance. He has previous experience at Panorama Mortgage Group, Stearns Lending, Nationstar Mortgage and Wells Fargo. He earned a degree in finance from the University of Iowa.

Zillow Group announced that Jeremy Hofmann has been promoted to chief financial officer. In his new role, Hofmann will oversee Zillow’s finance, corporate development, strategy and investor relations teams while reporting to CEO Rich Barton. Hofmann joined Zillow Group nearly six years ago, most recently serving as senior vice president of corporate development and strategy. Prior to joining Zillow, Hofmann spent nearly 10 years in financial services, predominantly at Goldman Sachs, where he was a vice president in investment banking.

Korth Direct Mortgage (KDM), a national commercial real estate finance firm, announced that Holly MacDonald-Korth will assume the role of CEO. MacDonald-Korth had been president and chief financial officer of KDM since 2017. Since 2006, she had served as the managing director and CFO of J.W. Korth & Co. Prior to joining J.W. Korth, she was senior vice president at Overstock.com and a financial systems analyst for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C. She received a bachelor’s degree in finance, with honors, from the University of Miami.

NotaryCam announced that Suzanne Singer was appointed as director of sales and marketing. In this role, Singer will be responsible for leading sales and customer success efforts that focus on large strategic relationships in the mortgage and real estate sectors. Singer brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services to NotaryCam after serving as senior vice president of capital-market sales at Solidifi. She has also recently held executive positions in business development and marketing at New Diligence Advisors, Clayton Holdings and Auction.com.

JLL announced the appointment of Jaymie Gelino to chief operating officer of project and development Services (PDS). Effective immediately, she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of PDS operations efforts to drive efficiency, process improvement and scalability of JLL’s offerings. Prior to her new role, Gelino served as COO of JLL’s design solutions group and as a finance business partner for multiple market businesses.
