Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, March 27-31

Guaranteed Rate added Kevin Kuper as a producing partnership branch manager in Columbia, South Carolina. Kuper brings with him almost 30 years in the finance industry and eight years at Palmetto Mortgage Group. He attended Limestone College and the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. Guaranteed Rate also announced that Jennifer Bettis was appointed as a vice president of mortgage lending in Oceanside, California. Bettis, who brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, has previously worked with City National Bank, Bank of America and Wells Fargo Private Mortgage.

Cenlar FSB announced that Rene Gonzales has been promoted to chief technology officer. In this role, he will be responsible for providing strategic technology leadership to Cenlar’s business units. Prior to joining Cenlar in 2018, Gonzales held IT leadership positions at PHH Mortgage, Altisource, Ocwen Financial Corp., Ally Financial, GMAC and JPMorgan. He also served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves for 28 years.

CBC Mortgage Agency hired Mark Leslie as director of capital markets. Leslie has spent more than two decades as a mortgage trader, including senior trading positions at Stearns Lending, Guaranteed Rate and Caliber Home Loans. Leslie holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Virginia Tech.

Brennan Investment Group announced the promotions of Sharon Fields and Amanda Moore to vice presidents of property management. Fields has been with the company since 2019, managing Brennan’s properties across the country. In her new role, Fields will continue to manage a large industrial portfolio but will also take on a larger role in standardizing Brennan’s property management platform. Moore has been with Brennan since 2020, managing industrial assets throughout the Chicago market. In her new role, she will also have an active role in enhancing Brennan’s property management platform both locally and nationally. Fields will continue to be located in Brennan’s Indianapolis office while Moore will be based in Brennan’s headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois.

Garris Horn LLP, a national law firm serving the financial-services industry, added James Brody and Ingrid Petersen as partners. Brody began practicing law in 2001 and was most recently chairman of the mortgage banking practice group with his previous firm. Petersen has long worked with Brody and was co-chair of her prior firm’s mortgage banking practice. Petersen has practiced law since 2004.
