Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, Jan. 30-Feb. 3

Cenlar FSB named Jim Daras as its new CEO and president. Daras has more than 40 years in the banking and mortgage banking industries. He joined Cenlar from1985 to 1990, leaving his post as chief financial officer to join Dime Bancorp in New York City. Until returning to Cenlar in 2015, Daras worked with several venture capital firms that invest in financial-services companies, including Loan Servicing Solutions in 2007, where he served as CEO. Jim was executive vice president and chief risk officer at Cenlar before moving to an advisory capacity in 2019. He returned to Cenlar full time in 2022 as executive vice president to manage the company’s banking functions.

PrimeLending announced that Kelly McGuinness was promoted to senior vice president and regional manager. She will be responsible for loan origination production in the Northeast Region, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

Calque announced the appointment of Dan Mugge as chief operating officer. Mugge will lead the company in seeking more lending partners to offer mortgage software solutions, including its flagship product, The Trade-In Mortgage. Mugge brings nearly 25 years of tech leadership and business management experience to the role with companies such as CoreLogic and Black Knight.

Apex Home Loans announced the addition of Leo Anzoleaga to its mortgage broker team. As a senior vice president of residential lending, he will be responsible for creating residential mortgage business and developing business partner relationships.

Mortgage Connect LP announced the hiringof Allen Illgen to national sales executive of originations. For home equity lenders, Illgen will assist clients using Mortgage Connect’s proprietary FINTRAC technology. He has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. He worked previously as director of national services for Title365, and prior to that as vice president of national sales at American Title and vice president at Indecomm Global Services. 

Mobility Market Intelligence (MMI) announced that Carol Burke and Rob Pommier have been appointed as regional directors of enterprise sales. As part of the enterprise sales team, Burke and Pommier are tasked with expanding MMI’s roster of mortgage enterprise clients. Burke comes to MMI after spending 10 years at Top of Mind Networks and seven years at Lenders One. Pommier was a strategic executive at SimpleNexus prior to joining MMI and he also spent time at Altisource, Fiserv and OpenClose.
