Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, June 13-17

Planet Home Lending hired Kathryn Edelen as regional vice president of sales. Edelen, who brings more than three decades of experience to Planet, will manage the eastern U.S. for the company, focusing on capturing market share through the addition of branches and mortgage originators. Before joining Planet, Edelen was regional sales manager at Nations Lending. Edelen also previously served as vice president for LoanDepot and as regional manager for Homebridge Financial Services.

Guaranteed Rate named Tammy King as a vice president of mortgage lending in the Martha’s Vineyard region of Massachusetts. In her role, King will provide mortgage origination services in the areas of Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Cape Cod. She also is licensed to service clients in Texas, Florida and California. King joins Guaranteed Rate with more than two decades of mortgage industry experience.

Churchill Mortgage announced the appointment of Kelly Lee as senior vice president of production for the Northwest region. Lee will oversee the Pacific Northwest division, including all production across the region’s 30 branches. With more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, he previously served as executive vice president and divisional manager at PrimeLending. Prior to that, Lee was vice president of sales and executive vice president for a regional mortgage company, and he served in the U.S. Army.

New Western announced that Kuba Poraj-Kuczewski joined its leadership team as chief marketing officer. Poraj-Kuczewski will be responsible for leading all marketing efforts for the company and overseeing New Western’s marketing team. Poraj-Kuczewski brings more than two decades of experience in customer acquisition, engagement and marketing communication strategy. Before joining New Western, he led marketing at companies including ClickBank, Quote Wizard, Redfin and Education Dynamics. He graduated from Seattle University with a degree in marketing and international business.

Marcus & Millichap announced the promotion of John Horowitz to Northeast division manager. Horowitz, a first vice president, most recently served as district manager. Horowitz joined Marcus & Millichap in 2006 and was promoted to regional manager in 2010, vice president in 2015, first vice president in 2019, and district manager in 2020. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. The company also announced the promotion of Brian Hosey to Mid-Atlantic division manager. Hosey, a first vice president, most recently served as district manager. He began his career with Marcus & Millichap as an associate in the firm’s Manhattan office in 2010. He was promoted to sales manager in Manhattan in 2013. The following year, he became regional manager of the New Jersey office before relocating to lead the company’s Washington, D.C., office. He graduated from Syracuse University with dual degrees in business and communications.

WFG National Title Insurance Co. added Brian Phillips and Kristen Jorgensen to lead its newly formed Rocky Mountain region. Phillips will serve as vice president and Rocky Mountain area manager, while Jorgensen will be an agency sales representative. A 12-year veteran of the title industry, Phillips began his career litigating real estate and title insurance matters, and he later moved on to serve as underwriting counsel before transitioning into the sales and agent support side of the business. With more than a decade of experience in virtually every facet of the title industry, Jorgensen served on the executive committee for the Utah Land Title Association as the underwriter section chair during the past year.
