NewRez LLC has announced that Rajinder Singh has joined its executive team as chief risk officer, effective immediately. Singh will oversee all aspects of risk, including the development and implementation of scalable infrastructure, analytics, processes, and systems for enterprise-wide risk management. He brings more than 23 years of experience to his new role, including leadership of risk management teams at Genworth, Citigroup, GM Financial, and GE Capital. He earned his MBA in finance from the University of Rochester and his bachelor’s degree in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
Embrace Home Loans has announced that Stephen Adamo has joined the company as president, national retail production. He will be responsible for increasing the company’s retail sales force and expanding its retail footprint. Prior to joining Embrace, Adamo served as executive vice president, head of U.S. mortgage banking, home equity, consumer manufacturing and credit underwriting at Santander Bank, NA. His previous roles include serving as president and CEO of Weichert Financial Services, as well as more than a decade with RBS Citizens Financial Group, where he held various leadership positions including president and CEO of the mortgage division.
Plaza Home Mortgage has announced that Erik Knight has joined the company as senior vice president, risk management and compliance. With more than 20 years in the financial services industry, Knight joins Plaza from NewRez, where he was vice president of operational risk and compliance. Over the course of his career, Knight has served in leadership positions at Ally Bank/GMAC Mortgage, Keystone Asset Management and Lehman Brothers/BNC Mortgage.
Roostify has appointed Bill Elderton as chief technology officer. Elderton will oversee the design, development and execution of the company’s technology roadmap. An 18-year industry veteran, Elderton comes to Roostify from Q2, a where he served the past six years as senior vice president of development and engineering.
Churchill Mortgage has named Grant McFarland as vice president of operations. McFarland brings 10 years of company and industry experience to the role, most recently serving as assistant vice president of operations at the company. In his new position, McFarland will focus on managing relationships related to Churchill Next and implementing new technology across processing, underwriting and closing.
Homespire Mortgage has added Dave Purdy as its new Southwest regional manager. Purdy brings nearly three decades of mortgage industry experience to his new role at Homespire, with a focus towards expansion and recruitment in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico and other markets throughout the Southwest region.
Evergreen Home Loans has announced that Jeanne Hussin has been promoted to the role of chief marketing officer — the first in the company’s history. Hussin previously served as vice president and director of marketing for more than eight years. In her new role, Hussin is charged with providing both strategic oversight and hands-on, tactical execution of the company’s marketing communications efforts.
Merchants Capital has hired Paul Bernardin as senior vice president of bridge and construction lending. In his new role based out of Boston, Bernardin will be responsible for monitoring new construction and substantial rehabilitation loans for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Government-Sponsored Enterprise (GSE) and Merchants Bank of Indiana lending platforms. He has more than 20 years of experience in multifamily real estate, most recently as senior vice president, director of underwriting and due diligence at Boston Capital Corporation. Bernardin also previously held principal roles at RTM Consulting LLC and JPI Partners LLC. He is a graduate of Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
