Fannie Mae has announced that Scott D. Stowell has been appointed to its board of directors. Stowell brings nearly 40 years of experience in the U.S. homebuilding industry to Fannie’s board. He is the founder, CEO, and president of Capital Thirteen LLC and currently sits on the boards at Toll Brothers, Pacific Mutual Holding Company and HomeAid America. He held various roles at Standard Pacific Homes from 1986 to 2015, advancing to CEO beginning in 2012. Upon the creation of CalAtlantic Group after Standard Pacific and the Ryland Group merged in 2015, Stowell served as the executive chairman of CalAtlantic; after CalAtlantic merged with the Lennar Corporation in 2018, he then served on the Lennar board of directors until 2021.

Certainty Home Lending has appointed Larry Torch as executive vice president, divisional manager and Craig Thomason as vice president, mortgage lending with a focus on northern California. Torch comes to Certainty after 13 years with one of the largest national mortgage lenders, where he was the Southwest regional manager. Before that, he spent eight years with a large, global depository, where he was senior vice president and regional sales executive for Illinois and Wisconsin. Thomason also joins Certainty with over 30 years of mortgage experience and has held key roles with multiple leading banks and financial institutions over his career.

Fathom Holdings has announced the promotion of Joanne Zach to chief financial officer (CFO). She has served as Fathom’s senior vice president of finance since February 2021, bringing over 25 years of experience to the role.

Lingerfelt has announced that Jodie Strum has been appointed managing director, capital markets & investor relations. In this leadership role, Strum will source and cultivate relationships with potential limited partners, expanding the firm’s investor network for commercial real estate projects. Prior to joining Lingerfelt, Jodie was a principal at Atlantic Real Estate Capital.

Rela estate investment trust Chimera Investment Corporation has announced that Cyndi Walsh has been elected to the company’s board of directors as a Class III director, effective Dec. 1. She has over 37 years of experience across multiple roles in the financial industry. Since 2011, she has served as president of Walsh Advisors. Prior to Walsh Advisors, she served as managing partner and CFO of National Bond and Trust. Prior to that, she held various capital markets and trading positions at Bank of America. She currently serves on the boards of LendingOne and Encore. Walsh holds a bachelor’s degree in computer systems from Purdue University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a doctor of business administration degree from DePaul University.

Verus Title has announced the promotion of Penelope Vockel, previously vice president for the Northeast and Midwest regions, to chief operating officer. Vockel has over a decade of industry experience, including prior leadership roles at STA Title & Escrow and a legal background from Georgetown University.
