Katie Sweeney pledges to continue her efforts in D.C. to speak on behalf of brokers

Katie Sweeney announced that she will be joining Rocket Pro as executive vice president of strategy and broker advocacy. She stepped down from her role as CEO of Broker Action Coalition last week, but said she will continue as a board adviser.

She said she was thrilled to join Rocket Pro and praised their mission as helping people find homes in a way that builds trust.

“The mortgage industry is changing rapidly, and I’m passionate about empowering brokers to use these opportunities to be stronger than ever,” Sweeney said in a LinkedIn post on the announcement.

“I’ll be hitting the ground running — meeting one-on-one with our partners, diving deep into … market strategy, working to democratize technology and find new and innovate ways to support this incredible community.”

Sweeney previously served as chief executive officer of the Association of Independent Mortgage Executives (AIME), the broker advocacy group affiliated with UWM. She worked in that role from January 2021 until March 2024.

She pledged to continue her advocacy role on behalf of mortgage brokers in Washington, D.C., saying they play a critical role in the journey to homeownership.

“Help people help more people,” she wrote in the LinkedIn post. “Here we go!”
