Additionally, these bid-anywhere auctions restore distressed properties back into quality affordable housing supply for the surrounding community more efficiently.
But foreclosure auctions that allow bidding from anywhere — either through online-only auctions or through in-person auctions that also permit remote bidding — were available for only about half of all foreclosure auctions nationwide in 2025.
