Industry Watch: Movement Mortgage expands into reverse mortgages and more

Movement Mortgage has announced its expansion into reverse mortgages under the leadership of Harlan Accola, the company’s new national reverse mortgage director. Movement has also added a team of reverse mortgage sales and operations personnel, including Dan Hultquist, George Vrban and Kari Van Kleef, to support Accola and the company’s new mortgage product.

Zillow and Redfin have announced a new partnership, with Zillow Group’s new-construction listings soon be automatically syndicated to Redfin, connecting home builders with buyers on both platforms. The strategic partnership is aimed at expanding the reach of home builder listings on Zillow and allowing Redfin customers to explore a broader range of new-construction homes for sale. As part of the rollout, Redfin will launch new features to help buyers discover new-construction communities and connect with home builders, powered by Zillow’s Community pages.

Clear Mortgage, a newly established brand formed by partners and mortgage veterans Stephen Votino and Sherry Riano, is opening “a series” of new branches in the Carolinas, beginning within the greater Raleigh metro area.

Gateway Mortgage, a division of Gateway First Bank, has announced the opening of three new mortgage centers in the first six months of 2023. The new mortgage centers are in Maryville, Tennessee; Springdale, Arkansas; and Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Gateway has more than 115 mortgage centers across the United States and is licensed in 43 states.
