Mr. Cooper Group has announced the appointment of Andrew Bon Salle to its board of directors, effective Jan. 1. Bon Salle brings more than 30 years of experience in the home lending sector. Most recently, he served as chairman of the board of directors of Home Point Capital; prior to that, he was executive vice president of the single-family mortgage business at Fannie Mae.

Flagstar Financial has announced the appointment of Lee Smith as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Dec. 27. Smith joined legacy Flagstar Bancorp, Inc. in 2013 as chief operating officer, and his transition to CFO comes after serving on Flagstar’s executive management team for more than a decade, most recently as president of mortgage. With over 25 years in finance, his prior roles include partner at Matlin Patterson Global Advisers LLC. He has a bachelor of science degree in economics and accountancy from Loughborough University in England.

Planet Home Lending has hired Candice McNaught as senior vice president, business development and strategic initiatives for the Distributed Retail channel. McNaught brings more than 16 years of experience in the financial industry, mostly with Supreme Lending.

Sierra Pacific Mortgage Company has added Suzy Lindblom as chief operating officer. Lindblom has more than 40 years experience in the mortgage business, holding leadership positions at several firms, including Planet Home Lending, Stearns Lending, Countrywide Bank and Bank of America.

Gateway Mortgage has appointed Jeff Schmidt as president of mortgage banking. In this role, he will serve as a member of the executive leadership team and will be responsible for Gateway’s mortgage activities across all spectrums, including retail, correspondent, operations, secondary and servicing. With over 40 years of banking and mortgage banking experience, he joined Gateway nearly 15 years ago, holding several key positions including area sales manager, interim chief mortgage officer and regional vice president over Gateway’s North Texas area.

Constructive Capital has hired Megan Castleton as chief credit officer. In this role, Castleton will develop and implement credit policies to ensure sound lending practices and drive technological innovation. Castleton brings nearly three decades of expertise across both commercial and residential markets. As chief credit officer, she will lead the company’s credit teams and drive strategic risk management by monitoring market trends, assessing credit risk, and optimizing portfolio performance to support business growth.

Needham Bank has announced that Danny Tieu has joined the residential lending team as vice president, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) residential loan officer. Tieu will ensure Needham Bank meets CRA and fair lending goals by establishing and maintaining relationships with realtors, housing authorities and nonprofit agencies to create referral networks for mortgage loans, with a focus on low- to moderate-income and minority borrowers. With over eight years of mortgage industry experience, Tieu most recently served as a community lending officer for Bank of America. Prior to that, he was a mortgage development officer for Santander Bank. He received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from University of Massachusetts Boston.
