Notable mortgage industry additions and promotions, Feb. 26-March 1

Fannie Mae has announced that Peter Akwaboah has been appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective May 20. Akwaboah has nearly three decades of experience in financial services and will be responsible for Fannie Mae’s Chief Information Office, Enterprise Operations, Business Resiliency, and Enterprise Workplace and Security functions. He is a managing director and COO for technology and the head of innovation at Morgan Stanley; before joining Morgan Stanley, he spent a decade at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

New American Funding has announced that Mosi Gatling has joined the company as senior vice president of strategic growth and expansion. Gatling brings more than a decade of lending experience to New American Funding. In her newly created role, Gatling will also be involved in recruitment and will work on creating marketing and business strategies based on her experience and understanding of the Black community.

Sound Capital has announced the appointment of Andrew Platt as senior managing director. Platt’s experience includes tenures at Sun West Mortgage, Sprout Mortgage, UBS, Bank of America and Lehman Brothers.

Starwood Capital Group has announced that Jonathan Pollack will join the firm beginning in 2025 as its president. Pollack joins Starwood Capital from Blackstone, where he served as global head of the firm’s Real Estate Credit business (BREDS) since 2016. Pollack was also a member of Blackstone’s Real Estate Executive Committee and Investment Committee, as well as Blackstone’s Operating Committee.

Xactus has announced that Michael Crockett has been named chief operating officer. In his expanded role, Crockett will guide Xactus’ day-to-day operations and key departments including credit, verifications, and tenant screening. He will also lead the strategic advancement of the company’s data innovation and Quality Assurance/Quality Control initiatives. He has more than 25 years of experience, most recently as Xactus’ chief data officer.  Prior to that, Crockett was the company’s executive vice president of data solutions. Previously, he served as EVP of product development at Credit Plus.

CoreLogic has announced the promotion of Kevin Greene to executive, general manager, real estate solutions, leading the Real Estate business. In this new capacity, Kevin will spearhead the product and go-to-market vision, strategy and lead client relationships with an emphasis on amplifying CoreLogic’s commitment to Multiple Listing Service clients. Kevin brings over two decades of industry experience; he joined CoreLogic in 2016 and most recently served as the head of the sales team for the Real Estate business segment.

Mortgage Connect has announced that Kim Hoffman, has been appointed the new president of Adfitech. Mortgage Connect acquired Adfitech, which has been providing quality control and risk management services to the mortgage industry for 40 years, in 2022. Hoffman will be tasked with refining Adfitech’s core service offerings and growing Adfitech’s product offerings supporting capital markets. With more than 30 years of experience, her background includes positions at RBC, Nationstar, Morgan Stanley, Sutherland Mortgage Services and Envoy Mortgage. Most recently, she served as head of mortgage operations for SoFi Bank.
