New American Funding announced that Andy Pettola joined the company as executive vice president of national sales. Over the course of his career, Pettola has served in senior executive leadership positions in the wholesale, retail and correspondent mortgage channels. Earlier in his career, Pettola was the owner of a retail broker shop for seven years. He will focus on growing sales and scaling operations in key strategic markets, as well as developing global growth, competition and profitability strategies.
Truist Financial Corp. announced that David Smith has been named as head of Truist Mortgage. Smith will lead strategy and execution for all areas of mortgage, including originations, fulfillment, nationwide direct channels, correspondent, warehouse lending and servicing. His experience includes leading the mortgage lending, insurance and title businesses affiliated with Keller Williams. Prior to Keller Williams, he was the president and CEO of CitiMortgage, and he also served as chief operating officer of retail banking and mortgage with Citibank.
Cenlar FSB announced that David C. Schneider has joined the company as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Schneider will be responsible for all financial planning, treasury activities, taxes, insurance, real estate and property management, and vendor relationships. He will also direct the financial reporting required of auditors, regulators and ratings agencies. Over his 35-year career, he has served as president of CitiMortgage, president of WaMu Home Loans, CEO of Vericrest, president of Ditech and CEO of Stearns Lending. From 2008 to 2012, he served as JPMorgan’s national servicing and default operations executive. He received an MBA from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Babson College.
Dovenmuehle Mortgage hired Patricia McCarthy to be the company’s new vice president of insurance administration. In this role, McCarthy will oversee Dovenmuehle’s insurance department with responsibility for hazard and flood insurance administration, loss drafts, research and the insurance department call center. Prior to joining Dovenmuehle, McCarthy held the role of vice president of mortgage warehouse lending at Hinsdale Bank for more than 10 years.
Merchants Capital hired Min Park as senior vice president of balance-sheet construction. Park joins the firm’s New York office, bringing more than two decades of real estate finance and construction asset management experience to her role. Most recently, she served as a director at Citi Community Capital. Park also served at Hypo Real Estate Capital Corp. and Equity Office Properties. She holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in real estate finance and investments from New York University.
Tower Capital added Kevin Wieland as senior vice president. In this role, Wieland will be responsible for arranging debt and equity capital for investors to acquire, develop, reposition or refinance commercial real estate projects in the Rocky Mountain Region and key West Coast markets. Prior to joining Tower Capital, Wieland served more than 13 years as a principal at LaSalle Investment Management. Earlier in his career, he also held positions at Wells Fargo, CIM Group and Cushman Realty Corp. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in real estate development from the University of Southern California.
Citymark Capital announced that E.J. Burke was appointed to its advisory board. Burke retired from KeyBank in 2019 after numerous senior executive roles, including co-president of Key Community Bank. Prior to joining KeyBank, Burke was president and a founding member of National Realty Funding.
