Notable mortgage industry additions and promotions, May 6-10

FHLBank San Francisco has announced that its board of directors has named Alanna McCargo as the bank’s next president and CEO. McCargo was most recently the president of Ginnie Mae. Prior to that, she served as senior adviser for housing finance at the Department of Housing and Urban Development under former Secretary Marcia Fudge and was vice president of the Housing Finance Policy Center at the Urban Institute. McCargo previously held leadership positions at CoreLogic, JP Morgan Chase and Fannie Mae.

Rocket Companies has announced Shawn Malhotra as its first ever group chief technology officer. In this role, Malhotra will oversee the development and implementation of technology across the entire Rocket Companies’ ecosystem, including artificial intelligence development, data science, product engineering, technology operations and information security, among other areas. Previously, Malhotra held a variety of technology leadership roles at Thomson Reuters, most recently head of engineering and product development. Previously, Malhotra served as the CTO of Thomson Reuters’ Corporate Technology business unit. Before his time at Thomson Reuters, Malhotra spent 12 years at Intel (including his time at Altera before the company was acquired by Intel) and started his career as a software developer for Qualcomm. He earned a bachelor of applied science degree in computer engineering at the University of Waterloo, where he graduated with honors. He also earned a master of engineering degree at the University of Toronto.

Planet Home Lending has hired Paul Walker to be chief financial officer. Before joining Planet, Walker was chief financial officer at Mortgage Assets Management, LLC, and Supreme Lending. He has also held significant positions in public accounting and SEC reporting including senior vice president of enterprise accounting at Finance of America; senior vice president of financial reporting and controls at Mr. Cooper (formerly Nationstar), and auditor with KPMG. Former Planet chief financial officer Teresa McDermott is transitioning to the role of deputy chief financial officer until her anticipated retirement within the next two years.

A&D Mortgage has announced the appointment of Andrey Gunin as its new chief financial officer. He brings over two decades of experience to A&D Mortgage, having held senior positions at companies such as Revo Technologies, Svyaznoy Group and Rolf Group. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management with majors in finance, marketing and management.

Carrington Mortgage Services has hired Steven Winokur to serve as vice president, marketing, third-party origination. Prior to joining Carrington, Winokur served as chief marketing officer at Angel Oak Lending.

InterLinc Mortgage has welcomed Erin Dee to the organization as its new chief operating officer. In her new role, she will leverage her industry knowledge and leadership skills to drive operations, streamline processes and enhance customer experiences. Before joining InterLinc, Dee served as chief operating officer at LoanPeople, chief strategy officer at Thrive Mortgage and chief operating officer at Infinity Mortgage Holdings.

City National Bank has announced that Rick Bechtel has joined the bank as executive vice president and head of mortgage & residential lending. Bechtel brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the residential lending industry. He will be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive mortgage strategy for the bank, leading its residential lending sales, operations, capital markets and servicing teams.

AnnieMac Home Mortgage has welcomed Ian Aubourg as the newest addition to its leadership team, serving as senior vice president of retail sales. With over two decades of experience in the mortgage industry, Aubourg will leverage his experience and leadership skills to drive growth and enhance the mortgage experience for clients in his new role at AnnieMac.
