The personnel moves you need to know from the past week

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has announced that Astrid Vermeer joined the association as senior vice president, chief financial officer. Vermeer will oversee MBA’s managerial accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. She arrived at MBA after serving as the chief financial and administrative officer for the Perkins School for the Blind; prior to that, Vermeer served as CFO for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems and as CFO of the International Services for the American Red Cross. She also held various finance roles at the World Wildlife Fund. Vermeer holds an MBA in finance and general management from the Louvain School of Management in Belgium, and a bachelor of science degree in business economics from the University of Suriname.

Guaranteed Rate Affinity has announced the appointment of Mark Rawls as vice president of mortgage lending. Rawls brings over 22 years of industry experience, including a tenure at Movement Mortgage.

Hometap has announced that Tom Egan has been named CFO. Egan will oversee all aspects of financial management, including developing and executing Hometap’s business and financial strategy. He joins Hometap after nearly five years at Divvy Homes, where he served as CFO & head of capital markets. Prior to his role at Divvy Homes, he spent over a decade at Barclays, where he rose to serve as head of EMEA leveraged capital markets.

Kiavi has announced the promotion of two leaders: Tim Lawlor was promoted to CFO and Jonathan Muller was promoted to senior vice president, product and technology. Lawlor will guide Kiavi’s financial strategy to support its growth goals, including overseeing the company’s Finance, Accounting, Capital Markets, Servicing, and Business Operations functions. Muller, in his newly created role, will lead Kiavi’s Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Infrastructure functions. Prior to Kiavi, Lawlor served as a capital markets leader at various technology companies, including CloudKitchens, OpenDoor, and Uber. Lawlor also held investment banking positions at Crystal Financial and Goldman Sachs. Muller, meanwhile, held senior product leadership positions at Employ, Via Oncology, and UPMC Enterprises prior to joining Kiavi in 2019.

Canopy Mortgage has announced the appointment of Brenda Hedeen as the company’s new CFO. She will oversee the financial strategy and operations of the company, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and compliance. She brings over two decades of experience in finance, including CFO roles at Open Mortgage, On Q Financial and Mann Mortgage.

Xactus has announced the appointment of Sasha Stair as its new chief marketing officer. With over two decades of experience, she has held prominent leadership roles at Snapdocs, Common Securitization Solutions, and Black Knight Financial.
