As the outgoing acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) prepares to testify before both chambers of Congress this week, a new poll of likely midterm voters was released Tuesday, showing strong bipartisan support for the financial watchdog agency.
Russell Vought is scheduled to appear before the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday and the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee on Thursday. The testimonies come as the acting director, who has also served as director of the White House's Office of Management and Budget since February 2025, looks to step away from his duties running the regulatory agency that the administration has been fighting to eliminate.
