Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, August 9-August 13

Planet Home Lending has promoted Samantha Manfer to chief business development and brand officer. The company’s business development, brand, and marketing teams will report to Manfer. She joined Planet Home Lending in 2013; prior to that, she held positions at Prospect Mortgage, Ameripath Mortgage Company, National City Bank and PCFS Solutions.

Guild Mortgage has added senior loan officer Debbie Aguirre-Shank to its Nampa, Idaho, branch. She has close to five years of mortgage lending experience and joins Guild from Gold Financial Services.

Open Mortgage has welcomed Windi Gerber as senior vice president of human resources. In this position, Gerber will be an integral member of the senior leadership team and will be accountable for the people operations of Open Mortgage, managing all aspects of the employee life cycle, ensuring team members are equipped with the training required to perform their roles, managing performance objectives and working with other departments to plan for and support continued company growth. Prior to joining Open Mortgage, she most recently served as senior vice president of human resources for Premier Lending. She also served as vice president of human resources for Movement Mortgage and carried the title of director of human Resources for both Deephaven Mortgage and Goldman Sachs. Gerber attended North Carolina State University, earning her degree from the College of Engineering, and has attained a Professional in Human Resources certification from HR Management Institute.

DocMagic has promoted Chris Lewis to director of enterprise solutions. He has more than 25 years in the mortgage industry, joining DocMagic in 2016. He started his career at Fidelity National Financial, eventually becoming chief operating officer and chief data administrator. He has also held roles at Fidelity Information Services, Loan Portfolio Services, Black Knight and JP Morgan Chase, where he was an executive director in the Loan Administration division prior to joining DocMagic.

NorthMarq has added Cody Field, as a senior vice president based in the company’s San Francisco office. Prior to joining NorthMarq, Field, an eight-year debt/equity professional, spent six years delivering Agency debt at Greystone in its San Francisco office. In addition, Field represented multifamily clients in the acquisition and disposition of multifamily assets at Marcus & Millichap.

Spruce has announced the appointment of three senior-level hires across its data science, title, and sales functions. The hires include Brittany Murphy, head of data science; Debra Hochman, head of title solutions; and Susan King, enterprise account executive. Reporting to CEO and co-founder Patrick Burns, Murphy will oversee the company’s dynamic risk optimization models and underwriting algorithms. Previously, Murphy led the research team for HouseCanary and was a lead data scientist at Allstate Insurance. Reporting to executive vice president of national real estate operations Lisa Robertson, Hochman will lead a cross-functional business team to title solutions nationwide. Previously, Hochman spent 20 years at First American Title before holding positions at AmTrust Title and TitleWave Real Estate Solutions. Reporting to Jason Chiang, vice president of revenue, King will lead Spruce’s expansion activities in the western U.S. Previously, she was vice president, regional manager, correspondent lending at Texas Capital Bank. She also held positions at Fidelity National Title and Stonegate Mortgage, among others.

Incenter Mortgage Advisors has hired Andy Beggins for the newly created position of director, Analytics. Beggins, who will manage IMA’s electronic MSR (eMSR) trading platform, joins IMA from Specialized Loan Servicing, LLC, where he was most recently vice president, Strategic Analytics – Forecast Modeling, Pricing, Structuring, and Business Development. He came to the industry after an earlier career in analytics for natural gas commodity traders.
