Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, Aug. 15-19

Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp. added three industry executives as part of an expansion of its production group: Scott Bristol, Brian Chick and John Lowe. Bristol joins Fairway as senior vice president of sales and recruiting, and was with PrimeLending for eight years, serving as president from 2014-17. Previously, he also served as senior vice president of national production for Flagstar Bank from 2018-21. Chick will serve as senior vice president and area manager for Fairway. He spent the past 12 years at PrimeLending, most recently as regional manager. Lowe joins Fairway as senior vice president and division manager, and arrives after an eight-year stint at RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing Corp., where he most recently was division manager and senior vice president.

Nations Lending announced the hiring of Greg Griffin as vice president and Central regional manager. Griffin will manage existing branches across the central U.S. while also focusing on the company’s growth plans in the region. Griffin comes to Nations Lending from Guaranteed Rate, where he served as senior vice president of strategic growth. Prior to that, he spent more than eight years at New American Funding.

Volly announced the appointment of Katharine Loveland as CEO. Jerry Halbrook, who has been CEO for the past three-plus years, will transition to executive chairman. Loveland brings more than 15 years of mortgage technology and financial-services experience, most recently as vice president of customer success at Reggora. Prior to Reggora, she was an executive vice president with Accenture, where she led the mortgage cadence delivery and client success teams. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds an international MBA from the University of Denver.

Greystone announced that Clive Lipshitz has been appointed as a managing director in the firm’s corporate finance group. In this new role, Lipshitz will oversee institutional investor outreach and develop a new investment management initiative at the firm. Prior to joining Greystone, Lipshitz was responsible for strategy and product development at Credit Suisse Alternative Investments and at Brookfield.

Merchants Mortgage, a division of Merchants Bank of Indiana, has announced the hiring of Damian London and Jeffery Frieman as mortgage loan originators. London and Frieman will join the Merchants Mortgage office at the company’s headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. London brings nearly a decade of mortgage experience to his new role at Merchants Bank, having most recently served as a loan officer at Carrington Mortgage. Prior to Carrington, London worked at Freedom Mortgage. Frieman joins the Merchants Mortgage team with more than 20 years of experience, most recently as a senior loan officer at AmeriSave Mortgage Corp.
