Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, March 1-March 5

 
Wade

Walker & Dunlop has announced that Dana Wade has joined the firm as chief production officer for all Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-backed loan originations with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She will also be responsible for helping drive the company’s affordable housing financing activities. Wade joins Walker & Dunlop from the FHA, where she was named commissioner in July 2020. Prior to joining the FHA, she served as associate director at the Office of Management and Budget; deputy staff director for the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; and deputy staff director for the Senate Committee on Appropriations. She graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Brummer

Fannie Mae has appointed Simon Johnson and Christopher J. Brummer to its Board of Directors. Johnson has served as a professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management since 1997. He is currently the Ronald A. Kurtz Professor of Entrepreneurship and head of the Global Economics and Management Group at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Brummer is the Faculty Director of the Institute of International Economic Law and Agnes N. Williams Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center, where he began teaching in 2009. He is also the founder of DC Fintech Week, a public policy conference on finance and technology, a co-founder of the Fintech Beat podcast and newsletter for CQ Roll Call.

Guaranteed Rate has named Mark Larsen as a vice president of mortgage lending based in Bloomington, Illinois. He joins Guaranteed Rate with 15 years of mortgage lending experience. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

 
Friedman

Greystone has announced that David E. Friedman has joined as a senior managing director and head of institutional lending to lead a strategic build-out and take-to-market execution of the firm’s new institutional lending platform. In this role, Friedman will focus on further advancing and developing new institutional capital relationships across the firm’s Agency and FHA lending platforms as well as establishing an enhanced gateway to the firm’s advisory, structured finance and servicing solutions. He comes to Greystone from TD Bank, where he served as a regional director and senior vice president within its Commercial Real Estate Banking group. Prior to TD Bank, he was a director within Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Real Estate Syndicated Capital Markets group and served in loan origination support and underwriting roles within PNC Bank. Greystone has also added C. Lamar Seats as senior vice president, FHA Production, effective immediately. In this role, Seats will oversee origination teams at Greystone handling multifamily, affordable housing and construction finance via HUD-insured programs. He joins Greystone from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he served as deputy assistant secretary of Multifamily Housing Programs for three years. He was previously a managing director at M&T Realty Capital Corporation and served as CEO officer of Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital.

Perez

The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) has announced Eddy Perez as its 2021 corporate board of governors chairman. Perez is the co-founder and CEO of Equity Prime Mortgage.

Allied Mortgage Group has announced key leadership additions to their affiliated business operations team. Dottie Hackett-Cole has been appointed to the position of vice president, Affiliated Business Operations, bringing over 30 years of financial operations and training to this newly established role. Her initial priorities will lie in further developing the operations team to support CCMI and define and implement a process improvements plan to streamline and grow the mortgage operations team. Most recently, she was senior vice president, Fulfillment Operations, with Trident Mortgage. Additionally, Theresa Spillman has been appointed to the position of assistant vice president, Operations for Center City Mortgage & Investments (CCMI). She has over 18 years of mortgage operations experience and will run the day-to-day mortgage operations for CCMI.
