Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, October 11-October 15

New American Funding President Patty Arvielo has been re-appointed to serve on the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee, which features leaders from the mortgage and real estate industry advising the department on ways to build sustainable homeownership. This marks Arvielo’s second consecutive term on the committee; she has served on the committee for the last three years and will now serve for three more.

Guaranteed Rate has announced the hiring of Arlyn J. Kalinski to serve as compliance director, Limited English Proficiency (LEP) program. In this role, she will work to strengthen the company’s existing efforts to engage a broad range of homebuying communities through its newly established Language Access Program. She will oversee all aspects of compliance and execution for the initiative, which is designed to guide prospective homebuyers through the entire mortgage process in their preferred language, starting with Spanish. The company also announced the addition of Drake Beaulieu as a vice president of mortgage lending based in St. Petersburg, Florida. Beaulieu, who was formerly an originator at LendUS, received his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University.

Guaranteed Rate Affinity has named Damon DiBari as a vice president of mortgage lending in Mason, Ohio. DiBari joins Guaranteed Rate Affinity with more than two decades of experience, most recently as a senior mortgage consultant at Sibcy Cline Mortgage. DiBari received his master of business administration degree from Xavier University.

Lenderworks has appointed Mario Gomez as executive vice president, director of capital markets. Gomez will be charged with overseeing and growing the firm’s capital market consulting and support services for mortgage lender clients. He comes to Lenderworks with 16 years of experience in the capital and secondary markets of the mortgage industry, most recently having served as executive vice president, director of capital markets with TowneBank Mortgage.

Eastern Union has named TJ Liebes to the position of senior underwriter. Liebes, who will work from Eastern Union’s Howell, New Jersey, office, will be responsible for underwriting, analyzing and processing commercial real estate loan opportunities on behalf of commercial real estate investors. Liebes earned a finance degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Stewart Information Services Corporation announced today that Michael Moshay has been hired as the new senior vice president of data & analytics, responsible for executing Stewart’s data strategy. Moshay will be responsible for Stewart-owned data resources and data relationships for Stewart Title divisions and segments. Most recently, he was Vice President of Data Acquisition at Zillow. Moshay earned his master of business in business management from Pepperdine University.

BlackFin Group has announced that Suha Beidas Zehl has joined the company as chief innovation officer. In her new role, she will be working on live projects, but also working to build out BlackFin’s innovation consultancy practice, which aims to make blockchain, artificial intelligence and machine learning fully achievable within the mortgage industry. She holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor of science degree in computer science from North Carolina State University.

Mortgage Contracting Services (MCS) has selected Craig Torrance to serve as CEO. In his new role, Torrance will oversee the company’s strategic initiatives, including growing and expanding services within the company’s core default field services offering. He will also lead the company’s expansion in residential and commercial facilities maintenance solutions. Prior to joining MCS, Torrance served as senior vice president at Brightview.
