Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, September 28-October 2

 
Din

Freddie Mac Multifamily announced that Daniel Din has been named vice president of specialty underwriting. In his new role, Din will oversee the underwriting and credit of Freddie Mac’s businesses in affordable housing, seniors housing, structured transactions and Low Income Housing Tax Credit equity investments. Over the last 13 years at Freddie Mac, Din has held positions with increasing responsibilities in Offerings Development, Risk Distribution and Credit, Innovation Underwriting. Most recently, he was the underwriting senior director of the Conventional Southeast region. He received an MBA in real estate from Johns Hopkins University, a master of science in information systems technology from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Virginia.

 
Cestare

Title Alliance, Ltd., has named Tom Cestare as its chief financial officer. In his role, Cestare will be responsible for the planning, implementation and managing of all the financial activities of the company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations. He has over 30 years of experience, most recently as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Beneficial Bancorp.

 
Rotstein

Eastern Union has promoted Estie Rotstein to the position of director of recruitment. In her newly created position, she will oversee outreach for job candidates to further expand the number of new Eastern Union commercial mortgage brokers. Rotstein, who started as the company’s executive hiring assistant, also has a total of more than 17 years of experience as a certified life coach and teacher.

Parekh

Toorak Capital Partners has announced that Carole Mortensen and Ketan Parekh have joined the firm as managing directors. Additionally, the Mortensen and Parekh will hold the titles of head of credit and head of business development and capital markets, respectively. Mortensen joins Toorak from M1 Strategic Advisors and has also held leadership roles at Waterfall Asset Management. She holds a bachelor of arts in political science from Seton Hall University. Parekh comes to Toorak from Invictus Capital Partners where he served as managing director. Prior to Invictus, Parekh held senior management positions at Window Rock Capital Partners, Premium Point Investments, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Ameriquest Mortgage Company. He received a bachelor of business administration in accounting and finance from James Madison University.

Mortgage Connect has announced Kevin McCrea as vice president of PR & Marketing. He has 14 years of experience in the industry, most recently serving as the director of strategic alliances for the Five Star Institute. McCrea will spearhead the management of corporate branding, marketing strategy and business development among other initiatives.

Agents National Title Insurance Company (ANTIC), a subsidiary of Incenter, has announced that Steve Ortega and Diana Reese have joined the company as agency representatives. Based in Texas, they are responsible for developing new agency relationships and providing ongoing support to ANTIC’s independent agent partners. Ortega, who is based in Fort Worth, has 13 years of experience in banking and lending, most recently spending four years with a national underwriter. Reese, whose office is in Houston, has 20 years’ experience in the title and real estate related industries, both in direct operations and as an agency representative for a national underwriter.

 
Methot

Birchwood Credit Services is announcing the launch of a new marketing department, with Amanda Methot as the new director of marketing & digital enablement. Methot has over eight years of marketing experience, including her most recent role as marketing technology and operations manager at Poly. She also held leadership roles at Regency Mortgage Corp. and its former parent company, LendUS, LLC.

Sovereign Lending Group has announced its corporate expansion to Texas and the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, hiring Curt Rosequist to run the Texas division. Rosequist previously worked at Mr. Cooper for eight years in a variety of roles, most recently vice president of home advisor operations.
