Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, Oct. 24-28

Freedom Mortgage named Mike Mell as senior vice president of wholesale lending. In leading the Freedom Mortgage wholesale division, Mell oversees a national sales team that includes regional sales managers and account executives across the country. Mell, a 27-year mortgage industry veteran, joined Freedom Mortgage in 2005 and previously served as senior vice president of sales.

Revolution Mortgage added Stacey Dowling to manage its new branch in Englewood, Colorado. Dowling is joining Revolution after 29 years in the mortgage industry, having recently served as a senior loan originator at Synergy One Lending.

Merchants Mortgage announced the hiring of Reija Eden and Bryan Neitzelt as correspondent account executives. Eden and Neitzelt will join the Western region sales division at Merchants Mortgage, focusing their business efforts along the West Coast. Eden joins the team at Merchants with more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, having held various positions at JMAC Lending, Newfi Lending and Carrington Mortgage. She is a graduate of the Marketing Institute in Helsinki and holds a degree in international business. Neitzelt, meanwhile, most recently served as a correspondent account manager at Northpointe Bank in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before joining Merchants Bank. Neitzelt holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance from John Carroll University.

Homestar Financial Corp. announced the hiring of Gurp Bhandal as executive vice president of national production. Bhandal’s new role is to grow national production and guide leadership teams across the country to enhance profitability and increase market share. Bhandal brings more than two decades of experience to the company, including positions at Citi and Guaranteed Rate Affinity. He most recently served as executive vice president of retail production at Amerisave.

LoanLogics announced the promotion of new CEO Dave Parker. Parker joined LoanLogics in 2019 as senior vice president of product management and most recently served as executive vice president of product.

Ncontracts hired Michelle Amato as chief sales officer. Amato will lead Ncontracts’ sales team to support continued growth. Amato brings 20 years of financial-services experience to Ncontracts. Previously, she served as vice president of sales for financial services at Workiva. Amato has held other leadership positions within financial services, including at Morgan Stanley. Amato holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. She received her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Dayton.

Brennan Investment Group announced the promotion of William Saied from acquisitions associate to acquisitions and asset manager, reflecting Saied’s dual role of sourcing new investments and overseeing operations for each asset in his region. He began his career with Brennan Investment Group five years ago, when he joined the Texas team as an acquisitions analyst in September 2017.
