Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, September 7-September 11

 
Fraser

The board of directors at Citi has selected Jane Fraser, currently the company’s president and CEO of global consumer banking, to be its next CEO. Fraser, who the company selected to head CitiMortgage in 2013, will succeed current CEO Michael Corbat when he retires in February 2021. She has been at Citi for 16 years, holding her current roles in charge of Citi’s consumer businesses since 2019. In addition to the top post at CitiMortgage, has also held several other leadership positions at the company, including CEO of its Latin American region, CEO of U.S. consumer and commercial banking, CEO of Citi’s private bank and global head of strategy and mergers & acquisitions. She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MA in economics from Cambridge.

 
Gates

SimpleNexus has announced that board member Cathleen Schreiner Gates has been appointed company president. Gates, a former executive vice president of sales and marketing at Ellie Mae from 2015 to 2019, joined the company’s board in April, bringing more than 35 years of experience driving growth at software-as-a-service firms. She is also CEO of independent consulting company Trifecta, which she founded in 2009. She earned a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and computer technology from Rutgers University.

 
Carlson

Guaranteed Rate has added Keith Carlson as vice president of mortgage lending and branch manager, overseeing the company’s new Little Rock office — its first in Arkansas. He joins the Guaranteed Rate team with nearly a decade of mortgage industry experience, most recently as a residential mortgage loan originator at Mortgage Financial Services. Carlson earned his bachelor’s degree at Western Washington University and his master’s degree from the University of California Santa Barbara.

 
Folk

Sierra Pacific Mortgage has announced the hiring of Jennifer Folk as vice president and division manager, Western TPO. In her new role, she is responsible for leading Sierra’s Western TPO fulfillment team while helping modernize and improve the broker experience. Prior to joining Sierra Pacific, Jennifer was the senior vice president of national fulfillment for Planet Home Lending. She has also held numerous leadership positions over the last two decades, starting her mortgage career in 2002 at Nationwide Lending, serving as senior vice president of strategic planning at Eagle Home Mortgage, and spending over four years in operations at Stearns Lending.

Snow

FormFree has promoted Cindy Snow to chief operating officer, where she will directly oversee business operations, product management, business intelligence, integrations and customer support. She joined FormFree as a product manager in May 2019 before advancing to director of product marketing. The company has also hired Tyler Brantley as director of implementation, where he will serve as the internal liaison between FormFree’s sales and operations teams and work on the onboarding experience for customers. Prior to joining FormFree, Brantley, a graduate of The University of the South, was vice president of sales at StudioNow and vice president of sales at Octerra.

 
Hughes-Wade

SLK Global Solutions has added mortgage veteran Casey Hughes-Wade to its leadership team as vice president of mortgage relationship management. In this role, she will help existing clients develop new strategies, increase growth and sharpen their business. She has been part of the mortgage industry for almost a decade, most recently serving as national business development manager with SimpleNexus.

Schwartz

Eastern Union has launched a new small loans division to focus on multifamily deals valued less than $1.5 million, naming Sarah Steinhardt as the division’s new director. Steinhardt, who has served as a processor and underwriter with Eastern Union since September 2019, carries a dual degree in international business and economics. Ben Schwartz will serve as lead broker for the new unit.

Homespire Mortgage has announced that Scott Valletti has joined its team as vice president of mortgage servicing. Valletti brings more than 20 years of loan servicing and compliance experience to Homespire. In his new role, Valletti will be leading Homespire’s loan servicing division, supporting efforts to establish the company’s sub-servicer relationships and positioning Homespire for continued growth.
