The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) received 8,613 public comments in response to its proposed rule that would eliminate prorated housing assistance for families with mixed immigration statuses in government-funded housing.
Based on a Scotsman Guide review, 97.24% of those comments were opposed to the change.
The final tally, while not perfectly scientific, shows there were 163 responses in favor of the proposed rule (1.89%) and 74 (0.08%) with no clear response. Many of the submissions had multiple signers, but Scotsman Guide only counted submissions, not signers.
