Understanding borrower psychology through loan size helps brokers move beyond rate quotes and build deeper, longer‑lasting client relationships

Have you ever encountered a loan request that feels more like a confession before it is a transaction? That might be due to the psychology of the borrower and what is really motivating them to even knock on your door.
Most brokers are trained to read the file before the person.  The loan amount becomes a sorting tool — logged, categorized and shopped. But it can also be used as a diagnostic tool. 
Loan size is one of the most telling clues you will get about a borrower, revealing capital base, risk tolerance and the pressure behind the request. Brokers who read it well stop competing only on rate and start competing on understanding.
