The Mortgage Bankers Association has announced that David Menke has joined the association as director of member relations. In his role, he will manage the MBA’s portfolio of residential member companies, overseeing and strengthening member engagement with key leaders and identifying opportunities for the MBA to better support their business efforts. Menke has 20 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry. Before joining MBA, Menke served as vice president of secondary marketing at CapStar Bank. Prior to that, he led the Secondary Markets functions at Franklin Synergy Bank. Menke started his career as a loan origination sales specialist in 2004 and holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Kansas.
CMG Home Loans has announced the new hire of Kari Van Kleef as one of several industry veterans who will be directing the dedicated Reverse Mortgage department at CMG. Over 26 years, Van Kleef has held various roles in the mortgage industry, starting out as a mortgage processor in 1998. In 2015, she decided to hone in on the reverse mortgage sphere, becoming reverse mortgage division manager at Fairway Independent as well joining the Reverse Department at Movement Mortgage.
NFM Lending has announced that Rick Roque has joined the company as corporate vice president of retail growth. Prior to NFM, Roque was executive vice president of retail sales at Sierra Pacific Mortgage; before that, he was a corporate vice president at CrossCountry Mortgage.
Cornerstone Capital Bank has appointed Paul Woo as chief financial officer. Woo will manage the company’s financial team and oversee strategic planning and capital management. Woo, who has over 30 years of financial industry experience, previously served as senior vice president and director of capital planning and corporate development at Cadence Bank. Prior to Cadence, he was a senior member of The Endicott Group and held key roles in investment banking, sell-side research and financial analytics at FBR Capital Markets, Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett and Morningstar. He earned a finance degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
MFA Financial has announced that Bryan Wulfsohn, the company’s co-chief investment officer, has assumed the additional role of president. Wulfsohn, a 14-year veteran of MFA, will assume the role of president from Craig L. Knutson, the company’s CEO, who will remain in such role. The company also named Lori Samuels as MFA’s chief loan operations officer, where she will be responsible for overseeing MFA’s asset management, underwriting, contract finance and other loan-related operations. Samuels has worked at MFA since 2010, where she most recently served as senior vice president with responsibility for various loan operations.
Figure Technology Solutions has announced the appointment of Ronald Chillemi as its first chief legal officer and corporate secretary. In this role, he will lead the company’s legal and compliance functions. Chillemi brings more than 25 years of experience to the role; prior to joining Figure, Chillemi served as general counsel at Aven and as deputy general counsel at Better. Chillemi also practiced as deputy general counsel and senior vice president at Fanatics and as a partner at Robins Kaplan LLP.
