A profound shift is coming to commercial real estate lending. Traditional underwriting skills like financial statement analysis, ratio analysis and loan structuring will increasingly be enhanced by automated systems that can evaluate data faster, more consistently and with greater objectivity.
Much of the technology already exists, but AI is poised to reshape CRE lending. Underwriting practices, systems and policies will evolve, requiring investment and organizational change.
