Only 69 comments were received on a recent Department of Housing and Urban Development solicitation for feedback, as HUD works to implement the executive order titled “Promoting Access to Mortgage Credit,” issued by President Donald Trump on March 13.
But the responses HUD did receive were from some of the mortgage and home building industries' biggest names.
Feedback was offered from trade groups and major companies alike suggesting the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) update its minimum property requirements (MPRs) to align with the standards established by the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
