An unpopular proposal from the Trump administration to curtail activity of build-to-rent (BTR) residential real estate investors continues to receive strong pushback as lawmakers and industry groups work to pass major bipartisan housing reform.
A letter signed by 76 members of the House of Representatives representing the Congressional Real Estate Caucus and the Build America Caucus made its way to House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., last week, imploring the lawmakers to reject the White House provision or risk hurting housing affordability.
