Florida tops in residential construction searches in 2021’s first half

Southern, western states dominate top of list

The South and the West continue to be fertile fields for home building in 2021, as evidenced by residential construction lender activity on Scotsman Guide’s Lender Search for the first six months of the year.

The top seven states that saw the most search activity for residential construction lenders in the first half of 2021 were all in the South or West, led by Florida. The Sunshine State saw 1,969 residential construction searches from January through June, followed by California with 1,625 searches. No other state had more than 1,000.
