Prominent mortgage groups are pleased with House of Representatives revisions to the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and are urging Senate leaders and the White House to coalesce behind the bipartisan housing package.
But whether the two chambers of Congress can reach a compromise that will also satisfy Trump administration demands remains highly uncertain.
The Senate had passed the massive piece of legislation on March 12 by an 89-10 margin, which broadly seeks to increase housing supply and home affordability while cutting regulatory red tape. But it has since languished in the House, which had passed its own housing bill on Feb. 9, also by an overwhelmingly bipartisan tally of 390 to 9.
