Why wholesale lending needs smoother broker-lender handoffs

As workflows fragment after submission, brokers and lenders face growing pressure to improve continuity

Wholesale lending has long positioned itself as an efficient model. But too often, its workflow tells a different story. Mortgage brokers guide the borrower, collect information, structure the loan and shop for the right execution. Wholesale lenders provide the capital, underwriting and operational infrastructure required to get the loan to the closing table.
In theory, each party focuses on what it does best, creating a process that is both specialized and scalable. But in practice, the handoff between those roles remains one of the wholesale channel’s most persistent operational weaknesses.
