All 11 Democrats on the Senate Banking Committee are in agreement: Any formal testimony regarding Kevin Warsh’s nomination for Federal Reserve chairman should be delayed until “pretextual investigations” into Fed Chair Jerome Powell and central bank governor Lisa Cook are closed.
The Democratic senators, led by ranking member Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, made that stance clear in a letter sent Thursday to Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., who chairs the committee and whose party holds a 12-11 majority.
